How do I log onto the network?

To log onto the network, NCTC employee USER NAME/IDs are: the first initial of the first name and the full last name (on occasion duplicate user names are differentiated by use of the middle initial) John Smith's user ID would be: jsmith.
User IDs and passwords to the network, are sent to new employees via email when accounts are created. New employees will receive an email from the Department of Information Service with their user ID and other necessary login credentials. This email is sent to the email address provided by the user to their supervisor. If you have not received this information please contact your department as necessary.

To change your network password, user will first need to log onto one of the college computers, the user will then press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and follow directions in Windows Security dialog box under the Change Password option.

How do I use NCTC Email and Webmail?

Full time faculty and staff will setup Outlook at their individual workstations. (Outlook should be set up at only one workstation. When not at your "home workstation," Webmail access should be used.)

How to set up Outlook at your workstation

Adjuncts use NCTC Webmail, the link is located at the bottom of the NCTC homepage. When using Webmail, your login ID is the same as the network ID. How to access NCTC WebMail

NCTC recently upgraded to Outlook WebMail 2007 which includes more of the features of Outlook 2007.

NCTC EMAIL IS NOT AVAILABLE BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 5 AM (WEBSERVERS ARE SERVICED DURING THESE HOURS.

How do I use Angel - Distance Education Tool

An NCTC employee's and student Angel account name will be the same as their network login ID.

Angel passwords and network passwords are not linked. If you change your Angel password it does NOT change your network password.

Faculty will have Angel accounts available for supplement to their classroom.
Staff will often have Angel accounts as a part of a committee

How do I send Employee or Faculty Email?

TO SEND AN EMAIL TO ALL NCTC FULL TIME EMPLOYEES type the body of your email exactly as you would like it worded and seen by ALL NCTC full time employees, and send the message to: empmail@nctc.edu. All Empmails will then be sent out by the President's office.
TO SEND AN EMAIL TO ALL NCTC FACULTY, type the body of your email exactly as you would like it worded and seen by all NCTC faculty and send the message to: facmail@nctc.edu. All Facmails will then be sent out by the office of the Vice President of Instruction.

How do I login into Campus Connect

To login into campus connect as a faculty or adjunct faculty, the user will have a user name of fac_jsmith up to 12 characters only and the password is the users social security number. For staff members it will be same user name format and the password is provided by the Department of Information Services at (940) 668-4284.

How do I View course rosters through Campus Connect ?

Campus Connect provides access to course rosters, student information such as contact &, network logins, registration information and other advising tools.

Why can't I view my rosters?

Staffing assignments may not be complete, check with your Department or contact the Help Desk at (940) 662-4284.

Why doesn't my login work?

1. Be sure you are using the Administrative login page on the Information Services Homepage, (link to Info Systems is at the bottom of www.nctc.edu) or click here for access.

2. Check your user name, are you using the fac_ prefix, your first initial and the first 7 characters of your last name?

Contact the Help Desk for assistance with your password at (940) 668-4284.

I've been notified to enter certify/grade rosters but this option is not available.
1. Check the date range indicated in the notification email. Certification and grade entry options are available only in set date ranges.
2. If you are checking in the appropriate date range and do not see the options indicated, contact the Help Desk at (940) 668-4284.

How can students find their login information?

Students can log into Campus Connect to locate their NCTC network and Angel ID name. Campus Connect login information is provided by the Admissions office or through the Computer Help Desk at (940) 668-4284.


Instructors can also locate student IDs, Network and Angel login names on their course rosters in Campus Connect.

How do I order software with NCTC discounts?

NCTC faculty & staff (both full-time and part-time) have permission to run one copy of certain Microsoft software packages, for school related activities, on either a laptop or desktop computer that they own or lease. The software license is valid as long as the owner is an employee of North Central Texas College.

How do I request computer/technology accounts for a new employee?

To request new accounts they must be authorized by the department supervisor. Download forms and view procedures here.

Please notify the Information Services offices when an employees leaves NCTC or moves employment status from one department to another.

How do I Request Computer/Technology Assistance?

Audio Visual - Classroom issues:

Corinth: Classroom issues with A/V equipment and media accounts should be reported to the A/V staff at ext. 6249 or stop by the AV office room 351.

Gainesville & Bowie: Contact ext 4284

Office workstations - Faculty and Staff:

Full-time faculty and staff can use Track-It to report technical problems, due to licensing limitations, Adjuncts and Part-Time staff should report technical problems to their Departmental Assistant for submission, or contact the Help Desk.

How do I request Facilities Maintenance?


moving furniture? requesting special event set up? need electrical work? Contact the NCTC Maintenance Department using the Perfect Tracker Work Order submission process. When on campus, open the Internet browser and in the location bar type maintenance or click the maintenance word and you will be directed to the website. Your login name will be required in Perfect Tracker, that is the same as your network login.

How do I access POISE/Skylite?

Login names are determined by the type of use of POISE needed and permissions granted. Accounts are created for users at the request from or by their supervisors. For login information contact your department supervisor or the Help Desk at (940) 668-4284.

Purchasing and Budget monitoring training is provided by Business Office.

How do I Reserve campus facilities - view room usage/schedules?

To request the reservation of campus facilities or to view the usage schedule campus rooms, use Astra WebClient. The link is found on the Information Services Homepage or you may use this link: Astra WebClient

To view room usage, you will not need a login

To request use of a room a login is required, for information on obtaining a login for Astra WebClient call the Help Desk at (940) 668-4284.

Typically each department at NCTC has a website monitor that updates and maintains that departments webpage(s). Macromedia Contribute is used for all NCTC site updates. Access to the NCTC website is granted by the Department of Public Relations. Please contact dfrost@nctc.edu for information on Contribute and department website access.
