Students and parents can register by clicking the “Sign Up Now” button on the MyNCTC Portal at http://my.nctc.edu and enter your mobile number and student email address. You will receive a text confirming that you have opted into the alert system to receive emergency notifications.
If you do not receive a message within 60 seconds, click on the “Report Mobile Number Error” link at the bottom of the registration page.
You may have a cell phone plan with a regional carrier that does not allow SMS messages from outside sources. In most cases, you will still be able to register for the service and receive text messages.
There are a few ways to stop receiving alerts.
- You can simply text STOP to 69310 from your phone
- You can send an email to: remove@wensnetwork.com
- You can return to the “Sign Up Now” button on the MyNCTC portal and click on “Unsubscribe"
Nothing will change. You will still receive alerts so long as you have the same phone number. There may be a short delay until the system recognizes your new carrier. If you would like to avoid a delay, unsubscribe to the alerts and re-register.
You will need to re-register so that you can resume receiving alerts. You may do so by visiting the MyNCTC Portal and clicking the LionAlert Signup button.
LionAlert is used by the college as a way to instantly reach mobile devices when an urgent situation needs to be communicated. There is no cost for the individual who has registered for the alerts; however, standard text messaging rates may apply.
You will receive emergency notifications and campus closure information issued by the college. You can also opt in to additional alerts such as Weather Alerts on the registration page.
NO. Inspiron Logistics, the company behind the LionAlert system, does not tolerate spam text or email messages. Inspiron Logistics maintains an anti-spam policy as part of the compliance to operate with priority provisioning with all of the major North American carriers.
LionAlert sends messages to the carriers at 30,000 texts per minute, however, once it enters the carrier network it can be delayed depending on many variables.
Report this to your campus administrator. Please be prepared to provide your name, mobile number and which carrier you have service with.
