To
Access the NCTC Catalog From Off Campus
(Locate books, e-books, and audiovisual materials)
- Go to the NCTC homepage: www.nctc.edu
- Click "Library/Learning Resources"
- Click "Library Catalog"

To
Access The Databases From Off-Campus (Remote Access)
- Go
to the NCTC homepage: www.nctc.edu
- Click "Library/Learning Resources"
- Under "Databases--Magazines, Journals, & Newspapers" click "Off-Campus Access"
- At the proxy server screen, enter your NCTC Network ID. The Network ID
is your login name
for the labs, the library, and remote access. The password for remote
access is your entire Student ID number without dashes or spaces.

To
Renew Books From Home
Books that are not overdue, are not reserve items, or are not
needed by another patron may be renewed once during the long semester.
Important: You will be required to use a Library PIN to utilize this feature. Please check with Library Staff to establish your PIN number. Student PIN numbers may change each semester.
- Go to the Library/LRC Catalog.
- Select the User Services bar at the top.
- Select Renew Materials.
- The User ID is your Student ID number with no dashes or spaces.
- The PIN is established by library staff. Be sure and contact NCTC Library to establish a PIN number.
- Click List Charged Items.
- Select Item(s) To Be Renewed.

To
Request Library Materials From Another NCTC Campus
Circulating items are available to students and faculty regardless
of the home location of the material.
- Go
to the Library/LRC Catalog.
- Find the item you want to check out.
- Open the record of that item.
- Select the REQUEST button at the top.
- Select REQUEST FROM ANOTHER NCTC CAMPUS.
- Date needed by: Enter the latest
date you can use this item.
- Note: Enter NCTC Library where
you will pick up the item (Gainesville,
Corinth, Bowie).
- User ID: Enter/Verify that the User ID is
correct. Your User ID is your Student ID number.
(Notice that the other fields--call number:, copy:, and item ID:--are
filled in for you.)
- Click Place Request .

To
Request Library Materials From Another Institution (Interlibrary Loan)
Materials not owned by the NCTC Libraries can be borrowed from other libraries across the United States. Allow up to two weeks for delivery.
- Go
to the Library/LRC Catalog.
- Select the REQUEST button at the top of the screen.
- Select INTERLIBRARY LOAN REQUEST-OCLC
- Date: Enter today's date.
- Title: Enter the title of the item being requested.
- Author: Enter the author of the item being requested.
- Type of Item: Enter the type of item being requested (book, VHS, DVD, etc.)
- Date needed by: Enter the latest
date you can use this item.
- Delivery Method: Enter NCTC Library where
you will pick up the item (Gainesville,
Corinth, Bowie).
- Note: Enter any other pertinent information regarding the request.
- User ID: Enter/Verify that the User ID is
correct. Your User ID is your Student ID number.
- Click Place Request .

You may also request items for Interlibrary Loan via OCLC Direct Request. Click here for directions on using this online service.
- Note: To access OCLC WorldCat via Remote Access you will need to know your Network ID and your Student ID.

View A List of New Library/LRC Resources
For
a List of resources (book and audiovisual) added to the NCTC Library/LRC
Collection during the previous month, follow the steps listed below.
Step
1: Go to the Library/LRC's Home Page
Step 2: Click on Library Catalog in the left navigation
bar of the Library/LRC Homepage.
Step 3: Click on the INFO DESK button.
Step 4: Click on the New Books button.
