AccessMyLibrary

AccessMyLibrary provides free access to journal content normally locked away in subscription databases...all courtesy of your local libraries. Libraries agree to share the content of their Gale databases with online researchers. A free sign-in may be required for some content in order to match users with regional sources of information.

Bentham Open Access

BENTHAM OPEN publishes over 250 peer-reviewed open access journals. These free-to-view online journals cover all major disciplines of science, technology, and medicine.

BioMed Central

BioMed is the online publisher of over 150 open access, peer-reviewed journals on a variety of topics in the fields of science, technology, and medicine.

DOAJ: Directory of Open Access Journals

This projects strives to "increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals thereby promoting their usage and impact." DOAJ provides access to over 3000 journals in multiple languages from all over the world. These are peer-reviewed journals selected and vetted by the Head Office of Lund University Libraries.

Electronic Journals from Virginia Tech Digital Library and Archives

" Digital Library and Archives provides access to scholarly electronic journals that are peer-reviewed, full text and accessible without cost. Journal range from topics in education, engineering, literature to technology, philosphy and libraries science. Most journals are available in both PDF and HTML."

Free Medical Journals

"Promoting free access to medical journals". A database of over 400 journals, sortable by title, speciality, language, and new journals. Some journals provide free access after six months to a year from their orignal publication date.

Highwire Press Free Articles

HighWire Press is a division of the Stanford University Libraries, which produces the online versions of high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly content. HighWire Press hosts the largest repository of free full-text life science articles in the world, with 1,902,349 articles available without subscription.

Open J-Gate

Launched in 2006, Open J-Gate is the contribution of Informatics (India) Ltd to promote OAI (the Open Access Initiative). Open J-Gate provides seamless access to millions of journal articles available online. Open J-Gate is also a database of journal literature, indexed from 5485 open access journals, with links to full text at Publisher sites.

Public Library of Science (PLoS)

PLoS is a nonprofit organization of scientists and physicians committed to making the world's scientific and medical literature a freely available public resource. PLoS publishes a series of peer-reviewed scientific journals that are freely accessible for use from the internet.

PubMed Central (PMC) is the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature.


SciELO: Scientific Electronic Library Online

Open-source depository of over 600 complete online scientific journals, with an emphasis on collecting the scientific literature from developing countries around the world.
