Welcome to Student Mental Health Information Center!. Attending college can be a very stressful activity for students who are new to the academic environment. College can also be stressful when a student is forced to juggle school work, family and a job.. Counselors are available to assist students with acquiring the skills and techniques they need in order to cope with the stresses life brings. Healthy minds and bodies are very important to NCTC. This website is designed as a educational tool which provides information that may prove helpful to individuals who are experiencing difficulty coping with college, work and life. Mental Health issues do not need to be viewed negatively, or as a stigma. Mental illnesses such as depression can be treated and managed, just as someone might seek treatment for high blood pressure or a seizure disorder. There can be detrimental results for not seeking assistance with mental health issues. It is just as important as your physical health! The Office of Student Services hopes this website provides useful mental health information. With the help of Beverly Snow, Corinth Librarian, we were able to design this website with educational and helpful information on mental health. This website serves as a informational resource only. Individuals are encouraged to seek mental health counseling from a licensed professional. If you have a question or concern, please feel free to contact me at rdelrio@nctc.edu. All questions and concerns are kept confidential. Also, if you would like to see a topic covered that is not covered on this site, we will be happy to research and locate credible information and if possible post to this website. Please email your suggestions to rdelrio@nctc.edu.
