Other homework or journal assignments may be added to this list during the term.

Please be aware of the following course rules:

  • Because I am already dropping several of the lowest grades, I do not accept late work.
  • This is not a self-paced course. You must complete assignments week by week, as scheduled.  Students who fail to complete two weeks’ worth of assignments may be dropped from the course without warning.
  • You are responsible for your own learning in this class. Success in online classes depends largely on your degree of self-motivation and determination to keep up with the class schedule.
  • It is your responsibility to stay informed of class assignments week by week, including any changes to the original schedule or assignments, as announced.  Be sure your Announcements box on our course page in ANGEL is always set to show Present Announcements
Sample Syllabus:
  • A complete syllabus and course calendar will be posted the week before classes begin. I am always glad to answer questions about the course requirements, but please be sure to read the entire syllabus first. You are responsible for knowing and following all guidelines and directions found therein.
  • In most weeks, a quiz will over that week's reading will be due by midnight on Tuesday, and a journal assignment will be due by midnight on Thursday. You will have three tries to pass the quiz with a score of 80 or better. The journal will not be accessible until you pass the quiz.
  • All work in this course is submitted online, and must be submitted by the stated due dates. The three exams will be given online on Sunday evenings; students with a bona fide excuse (e.g., job schedule) will be able to take the exams on a different night if arrangements are made with me in advance.
