History 1301 is a general survey of American history from the

discovery to 1865.  Some of the topics to be covered include: 

The age of discovery and exploration, the colonies, the

Revolutionary War, the early national republic, America’s

emerging economy, the development of American culture,

Andrew Jackson and Jacksonian democracy, crisis of the union,

secession and Civil War.  This course is required for graduation

and teacher certification.
