MATH1314 - College Algebra

Ken Schultz
Instructor

Concepts instructed in this course include complex numbers, linear and quadratics functions, transformations of functions, polynomial and rational functions and their graphs, inverse functions, logarithmic and exponential functions, systems of equations and inequalities, matrices, sequences and summation notation.

This online course covers the same material as the traditional classroom course. It is expected that the student will spend an average of 15 hours a week watching video lectures, doing the online homework and quizzes, and attending proctored exams. This is not a self-paced course. The instructor will have due dates for assignments, to ensure the student is on the right path for a successful semester.

Students are expected to come to the Corinth Campus for 4 tests throughout the semester.  There are no make-ups for missed exams, so mark your calendars now.

The schedule for the Spring 2010 semester is as follows:

          Test 1           Saturday,  February 13, 2010 …… 10:00am – 12:00pm

          Test 2           Saturday,  March 13, 2010 …… 10:00am – 12:00pm

          Test 3           Saturday,  April 17, 2010 …… 10:00am – 12:00pm

          Final             Saturday,  May 8, 2010 …… 10:00am – 12:00pm

Students who live a prohibitive distance from the Corinth campus may, with the instructor’s approval, use an off campus proctor, but students must take the tests before the given Saturday times posted.
