Denton Campus update

You may have noticed some branding changes at our Denton campus recently.  In 2019, we opened the First State Bank Exchange.  This facility was originally established as an accelerated student experience where students could take 8-week (instead of 16-week) classes from a limited selection of programs.  Located in downtown Denton, very near both TWU and UNT, this campus became the perfect resource for students who needed to quickly earn transferable credits that could easily apply toward a TWU or UNT program.  Thus, we called it the Exchange, a place for students to easily exchange the credits they needed from institution to institution, as well as a home for the exchange of ideas and community.

To open this campus, we needed a partner, a partner that could make this dream a reality.  There is one organization that NCTC has been a close partner with for over 100-years, and once again they generously offered their resources.  It was only through the generosity of First State Bank that the Exchange could ever open, and we have been so proud to present the downtown Denton location as the “First State Bank Exchange.”

Over the last 5-years, we have expanded the offerings of the First State Bank Exchange.  We now offer 16-week courses alongside 8-week, as well as more program options (and continuing to expand).  Students still have the opportunity to earn transferable credits, have a home where they can exchange ideas, be involved in their community and much more.  As this downtown Denton location continues to evolve, our branding is evolving with it.  From the First State Bank Exchange, a location that originally offered a limited selection of programming, the campus will now be called the “NCTC Denton Campus,” aligning with all other geographical campuses within the NCTC system.

That said, First State Bank is not going anywhere.  First State Bank continues to be our partner in education at this campus, helping us to expand resources for our students.  Countless futures have been shaped through their commitment of continuing education and enriching lives, and countless more are to come.
