Doug Akins has nothing but positive things to say about teaching and his students. Remarking

“The thing that makes me most proud at NCTC is seeing my students succeed. I've kept in touch with many of them, even from 20 years ago. Some of them are now IT managers at major corporations, from Bangor, Maine to California. It's amazing to witness their growth. I have students working at Google, Cisco, Amazon, you name it. Their achievements inspire me, and I'm fortunate stay in touch with them.

Even our last graduation ceremony at the UNT Coliseum, I had Business Management and networking students, and every single one of them stopped to shake my hand or give me a hug. And most of those students were online students. Even with online learning, I try to build relationships so that the courses feel real, and they know who I am. It was great to see those online students.”

NCTC’s Networking Technology program is an exciting opportunity for those interested in computer networking. The curriculum provides impactful learning experiences and hands-on training in the fundamentals of CISCO, Network Security, Linux, and the Microsoft Windows Server platform. Our labs offer all required equipment as outlined in the CISCO Networking Academy®, as well as the most current versions of Windows Server. So no matter where you end up post-completion, you will have a deep understanding of multiple systems.
